About

MBTJ Bangert Inc. CSLB (Contractors State License Board) # 752497 Owner Bill Bangert’s great-grandfather, Michael Stenson, came to Chicago from Ireland around 1890. He started a sewer business connecting house sewers to the new Chicago sewer system when the city raised streets 10 feet in order to prevent major flooding. There’s an old picture showing him in work shoes, oversized dark pants tied with strings around the ankles, a white shirt and tie, and a suit coat, along with a shovel and wrench tied together with string in one hand.

His son, George, followed in his profession, taking up new plumbing construction in Chicago schools and large commercial buildings. Bill’s dad started working in this industry in 1947 with his Uncle George as an apprentice plumber. Bill has repaired and installed plumbing in every type of building, from residential properties to high-rise structures and big commercial offices.

After attending college at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1982, Bill began working with his dad and brothers (Jim, Matt, and Tom) on plumbing projects throughout California, serving hospitals, high-rise buildings, and homes.

This photograph represents the foundation of everything we do at THE LOCAL PLUMBER. The Wm. B. Bangert Co. truck you see here, serving the community of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, is more than just a piece of family history. It is proof that our commitment to quality plumbing service has been passed down through generations.

My great-grandfather arrived from Ireland to Chicago and built his reputation by connecting house sewers to the city's new sewer system. His son George carried that work forward in Chicago's schools and commercial buildings. My father entered the trade and spent decades mastering his craft. After completing my studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara, I joined the family business and never looked back.

Generations of experience run through the work we do every single day. When you trust THE LOCAL PLUMBER with your home or business, you are trusting a family that has devoted itself entirely to this trade across four generations.

Plumbing is one of the oldest and most essential trades in human history. From the ancient clay pipes of Mohenjo-Daro to the modern reinforced materials we work with today, every advancement in this industry has been driven by one purpose, protecting people and the communities they live in.

At THE LOCAL PLUMBER, we carry that same sense of purpose into every project we take on. With decades of hands-on experience across residential homes, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities throughout Orange and Los Angeles Counties, we understand that quality plumbing is not just about fixing problems. It is about building systems that last and serving clients who deserve nothing less than our best work.

That is the standard my family has upheld for generations and it is the standard we bring to every job we accept today.
